On March 19 Ukrainian Academy of Film announced nominees for the annual National Film Award "Golden Dzyga". Among the 97 submitted films, the film by Pavlo Ostrikov "Mia Donna", produced by Kristi films, was included in the shortlist of applicants for the prestigious award in the category "Best short film".
The new work of the winner of the year-old OIFF, the Second National Film Award "Golden Dzyga" and the festival in Locarno, directed by Pavlo Ostrikov, tells about the life of Oksana, which is changing rapidly when her husband Anatoly suddenly turns into a seven-year-old boy.
"In general, it should be said separately about Pavlo Ostrikov, since this young filmmaker has not only an original vision, he has a true cinematic skill, which is rarely encountered even among professional filmmakers. His essence in the ability not only to find the right story (and scripts to his films Ostrikov writes himself), but also to find her a visual equivalent, that is, translate words into action and image, "criticizes film critic Igor Grabovich.
We remind that the third Golden Zyga Awards ceremony will take place on April 19, where the awards will be best among the best in Ukrainian cinema.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Honorary Members of the Ukrainian Academy of Motion Picture, we are waiting for your vote!
